The Dhirubhai Ambani University – School of Law participated as the Official Academic Partner for the inaugural Trust & Safety India Festival 2025 (TASI 2025), held on 7–8 October 2025 in New Delhi. Organised by the Centre for Social Research, India, TASI 2025 served as the Official Pre-Summit Event for the IndiaAI Impact Summit 2026, following the global sequence of the AI Action Summit in Paris (2025) and the AI Seoul Summit (2024).
The Festival convened an influential gathering of national and international policymakers, industry innovators, legal scholars, technologists, safety practitioners, and civil society leaders. Discussions focused on some of the most urgent and complex challenges in today’s digital ecosystem, including:
Responsible AI governance and emergent regulatory frameworks
Child safety, youth empowerment, and prevention of online child exploitation
Gender rights, digital empowerment, and protection from gender-based online harms
Addressing deepfakes and risks associated with AI-generated content
Empowering survivors of non-consensually shared intimate images (NCII)
Strengthening mental health and well-being in digital spaces
Tackling online scams, fraud, and abuse on encrypted platforms
Representing the University at TASI were Dr. Manuj Bhardwaj, Founding Faculty Member & Head of Executive Education, and Mr. Aatman Shukla, Assistant Professor. Their participation provided the School an opportunity to engage directly with platform leaders, policymakers, and trust & safety experts shaping India’s digital governance landscape.
What stood out across sessions was the shift from abstract, conceptual debates to practical, on-the-ground questions: How do platforms safeguard millions of users at scale? What governance frameworks can ensure transparency in AI systems? How can digital rights be protected amid rapid technological change? These conversations resonated strongly with the School’s broader academic mandate, reinforcing the importance of legal education that is responsive to real-world regulatory and technological complexity.
As Official Academic Partner, the Dhirubhai Ambani University – School of Law contributed to a shared mission of strengthening digital rights, advancing responsible AI governance, and building resilient frameworks for user protection. The Festival’s collaborative spirit underscored a central truth of the digital age: as technology accelerates, the systems that keep people safe must evolve with equal urgency—and academia remains a key partner in shaping that evolution.
