We are proud to share that Prof. (Dr.) Avinash Dadhich, Director of Dhirubhai Ambani University – School of Law, participated in the Maha Privacy Conference 2025, organized by the DPO Club in Mumbai on March 7, 2025. The conference served as a premier platform for thought leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss critical issues surrounding data protection, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance in India’s digital economy.
Prof. Dadhich spoke on “Consent Managers: What’s the Road Ahead", addressing their pivotal role under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA). Under the DPDPA, Consent Managers have a crucial part to play, acting as intermediaries between data-sharing individuals & data processors, and it is their role to ensure that there is informed consent, transparency, and accountability throughout the life-cycle of data sharing and data-use. In this way, they serve both citizens and data processors, strengthening the data privacy rights of individuals while also enabling businesses to meet compliance obligations efficiently.
Additionally, Prof. Dadhich highlighted the importance of collaboration between industry and academia in building a culture of compliance in India. He emphasized that:
Prof. Dadhich’s participation is a sign of Dhirubhai Ambani University – School of Law’s continued commitment to shaping national dialogues on data protection, privacy governance, and legal-tech innovation.
