The Dhirubhai Ambani University – School of Law will inaugurate its Executive Development Programme (EDP) on Data Privacy & AI: Law, Policy & Practice on 20 September 2025 in partnership with the Indian National Association of Legal Professionals (INALP). The programme will open with sessions led by two internationally acclaimed figures shaping the future of AI regulation, privacy, and responsible technology governance.
The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Shardul Shroff, Executive Chairman of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., and one of India's most influential legal minds. Over the course of four decades, Dr. Shroff has played a defining role in the evolution of India’s corporate, commercial, and regulatory landscape. His deep expertise in governance, restructuring, and policy reform continues to shape national discourse and guide institutions navigating complex legal environments.
He was also joined by Ms. Ivana Bartoletti, Vice President and Chief AI Governance & Privacy Officer at Wipro, and a globally recognised authority on AI ethics, digital rights, and privacy regulation. She advises the Council of Europe on AI and gender rights, founded the Women Leading in AI Network, and co-founded the Alliance for Universal Digital Rights. An award-winning thought leader and author of An Artificial Revolution: On Power, Politics and AI, she has been celebrated internationally for her work on integrating governance and accountability into emerging technologies.
Together, their sessions framed the legal, policy, and ethical challenges of the AI era, exploring how innovation can progress within robust systems of transparency, accountability, and rights protection.
This inaugural evening sets the foundation for an intensive programme that will equip professionals, regulators, and industry leaders with the frameworks needed to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of data protection, AI governance, and technology law, ensuring readiness for the responsibilities of an increasingly intelligent and interconnected world.
