Dr. Manuj Bhardwaj, Founding Faculty Member and Head – Executive Education, and Mr. Aatman Shukla, Assistant Professor, School of Law, Dhirubhai Ambani University, attended the Trust & Safety Innovation Festival (TASI) held in New Delhi. The festival convened a wide range of stakeholders engaged with India’s evolving digital governance ecosystem, including platform leaders, policymakers, researchers, and trust and safety professionals.
Discussions at TASI moved beyond high-level abstractions to focus on practical challenges facing digital platforms and regulators today. Key themes included safeguarding users at scale, designing accountable artificial intelligence systems, operationalising trust and safety frameworks, and addressing the regulatory implications of algorithmic decision-making. The conversations reflected the increasing complexity of balancing innovation, platform responsibility, and user rights in rapidly expanding digital environments.
For the School of Law, these engagements directly inform contemporary legal education and research. Trust and safety has emerged as a core dimension of digital public policy, intersecting with areas such as content moderation, intermediary liability, data governance, and transparency obligations. Exposure to the operational and policy realities discussed at TASI contributes to aligning academic programmes with the regulatory and technological questions currently confronting institutions and industry alike.
Participation in forums such as TASI reinforces the School’s commitment to grounding legal scholarship and executive education in the lived challenges of digital governance, ensuring that teaching and research remain attentive to how legal frameworks are tested, adapted, and redefined in practice.
